About the Scholarship
Caroline Joyce Bindel attended Patsy Sommer Elementary, Cedar Valley Middle School, Pearson Ranch Middle School, and McNeil High School (Class of 2023). Caroline was a performer–she danced her whole life, cheered at Pearson Ranch and McNeil, and dazzled in school musicals and theater productions. The summer after 8th grade, she was diagnosed with a rare, aggressive childhood cancer, malignant rhabdoid tumor, and died seven months later on January 23, 2020. Caroline dreamed of being an engineer and planned to go to Texas A&M.
The Caroline Bindel Memorial Scholarship is for a graduating senior who participated in cheer, dance team, or musical theater during high school who will be attending a four-year university. Special consideration will be given to students studying engineering (though not required).
