Samsung gives $25,000 to help Round Rock ISD meet student needs due to school closures

To assist school systems with their transition to remote learning, Samsung has provided nearly $3 million to support schools across the country. Round Rock ISD received $25,000 from Samsung — money that helped provide internet access and critical supplies to students in need.
Kat Malone Named Round Rock ISD's 2021 Secondary Teacher of the Year

Receiving the surprise of the year in front of her home, Success High School English Teacher Kat Malone was named Round Rock ISD’s 2021 Secondary Teacher of the Year (TOY). She received the good news during a visit from Superintendent Steve Flores, Ph.D., Success Principal Thomasine Stewart, and District staff.

The Round Rock ISD Partners in Education (PIE) Foundation raised a record-breaking $121,500 during the sold-out 2019 19th Annual Golf Classic on October 7 at The Golf Course at Star Ranch. The annual tournament, which was themed “Be A Hero” this year, raises funds to support Round Rock ISD students and teacher programs.

Round Rock ISD board of trustees names new president, vice president and secretary

After swearing in three newly elected trustees, the Round Rock ISD board of trustees nominated new board officers at its final meeting of 2018. On Dec. 20 the board conducted a ceremony to swear in trustees Amber Feller, Place 3; Cory Vessa, Place 4; and Amy Weir, Place 5. Steven Math was also re-elected to retain his Place 6 seat.

Kick-off was supported in part by Round Rock ISD Partners in Education Foundation (PIE), St. David’s Round Rock Medical Center, A+ Federal Credit Union, Baylor Scott & White Healthcare, Texas Vinyl Dispensary and Randolph Brooks Federal Credit Union as first level advocates. Through the assistance of the PIE Foundation and the support of community partners, nearly the entire event cost was covered by vendor sponsorships.
Round Rock ISD names Cactus Ranch teacher Katy Gray 2019 Elementary Teacher of the Year

Gray was named the Teacher of the Year at Cactus Ranch Elementary School and was selected among 34 elementary educators to represent the District at the state competition. Gray has been an educator for over 30 years, three of which have been teaching fourth-grade students at the campus.
Round Rock ISD names Round Rock HS teacher Randi Chaverria 2019 Secondary Teacher of the Year

Chaverria, a Family and Consumer Science Teacher, was named the Teacher of the Year at Round Rock High School and was selected among 20 secondary educators to represent the District at the state competition. Chaverria has been an educator for five years, two of which have been in her current position.
Joe Lee Johnson educator Allie Duffy named H-E-B Excellence in Education Award winner

Duffy was one of two educators selected out of thousands from across the state and five finalists for the prestigious title. The Rising Star title honors teachers with 10 or fewer years of experience in the classroom. The award comes with a $5,000 cash prize for Duffy, and a $5,000 grant for her school.
RRISD Partners in Education Foundation raises $162,000 during annual Employee Giving Campaign

The annual Employee Giving Campaign, sponsored by Randolph Brooks Federal Credit Union, invites Round Rock ISD staff to donate funds to the RRISD PIE Foundation in support of District programs, teacher grants, scholarships and the Teacher of the Year. The campaign raised $137,000 in 2016.

RRISD awards Innovative School Grants

Round Rock ISD has awarded Innovative School Grants to 24 District campuses, challenging the winning schools to explore, enrich or design an exemplary model of innovation to serve students and the community. Funded through general operating fund balance set aside for Innovative School Grants, the grants, totaling $2 million, were awarded through an internal application and interview process.

PIE Foundation Raises record breaking $270,388 at annual gala

The Gala, themed “Fire and Ice,” was supported in part by St. David’s Round Rock Medical Center as a presenting sponsor with a $30,000 donation, while Dell, Inc and GTS Technology Solutions co-sponsored the Gold sponsor with a $7,500 each. In addition to these sponsorships, the YMCA of Greater Williamson County along with Bartlett Cocke General Contractors served as Silver sponsors with each company donating $10,000. The Gala is the Foundation’s largest fundraising event of the year and proceeds are used to enrich, enhance and maximize the quality of education for all students in Round Rock ISD through scholarships, classroom grants, teacher of the year awards and more.
Scholarship In Honor Of Coach Sean Kelley

The Foundation is honored to support a scholarship in memory of Sean Kelley, a beloved teacher, colleague, friend and mentor. This memorial scholarship is established by the Kelley Family, Stony Point High School and friends. RRISD PIE Foundation Announces New Executive Officers

The Round Rock ISD Partners in Education (PIE) Foundation announced new Executive Officers at its June 10 regular Board Meeting, naming community leader Lisa Cauble as its first female president of the 30 year organization.
Cauble formerly served as RRISD Council of PTAs president and will succeed Jaime Alaniz who presided as the PIE Foundation president for the past three years.
