Round Rock ISD graduating senior who mentored another student for two academic years during High School (through Peer Assistance and Leadership (PALS) Program.

April Kimberly (Allen) Gunter Memorial Scholarship was created to honor a wonderful daughter, mother, and employee of Round Rock ISD. April was just 39 years old when she passed away on May 15, 2012, after a brief illness.

April always showed strength and determination to live her life to the fullest and fill every life she touched with joy, energy, and enthusiasm. She could not say “No” and jumped in with effervescent enthusiasm yelling, “Let’s do it!” She tirelessly contributed to her community with her devotion to Round Rock ISD where she offered her marketing expertise, determination and inspiration while serving as PTA Vice-President and the 2011-2012 PTA President. April was the Parent Support Specialist and later College Bound Mentor Grant Coordinator for Round Rock ISD. Continuing a three-generation family tradition, April served as Girl Scout leader for her daughter.

The funds received will be used to support a scholarship for a Round Rock ISD graduating senior who has experience as a “mentor” to another student.
