Irene C. Simon Honorary Scholarship

Inspired by a teacher, Irene C. Simon had a lifelong dream of becoming a Teacher.  However due her parent’s financial struggles she was not able to afford college.  Married with four children she was not able to pursue her dream.

As stated by her son, “she was a teacher, our teacher”.

She used phonics to teach her children to read and spent time to with her children visiting galleries, museums, libraries and historic sites. She was practicing differentiated instruction before it was cool. She instilled in all of her children to have a life-long love for learning and a reverence for teachers.

She is very proud of all four of her children and excited to see her daughter Julie and son John both currently teaching

Social Studies at the same Round Rock ISD high school.

To honor Irene C. Simon, the family would like to establish the Irene C. Simon Honorary Scholarship to be made available to a

Success High School student who is the first member of their family to attend college.
