The Foundation is proud to support the April Kimberly (Allen) Gunter Memorial Scholarship in honor of a wonderful daughter, mother and employee of Round Rock ISD. April was just 39 years old when she passed away on May 15, 2012 after a brief illness.

April always showed strength and determination to live her life to the fullest and fill every life she touched with joy, energy, and enthusiasm.  She could not say “No” and jumped in with effervescent enthusiasm yelling, “Let’s do it!” She tirelessly contributed to her community with her devotion to Round Rock ISD where she offered her marketing expertise, determination and inspiration while serving as PTA Vice-President and the 2011-2012 PTA President. April was the Parent Support Specialist and later College Bound Mentor Grant Coordinator for Round Rock ISD. Continuing a three generation family tradition, April served as Girl Scout leader for her daughter.

The family requests contributions be made in April’s memory to Round Rock ISD Partners in Education Foundation. Donations can be made online or mailed to: RRISD PIEF, 595 Round Rock West, Suite 404, Round Rock, TX 78681 with “April Gunter Scholarship” on the memo line.

The funds received from your contributions will be used to support a scholarship for a 2021 graduating senior who has experience as a “mentor” to another student. All current Round Rock ISD seniors who fit this criteria are eligible for this scholarship and can apply through their high school counselor’s department or online through the individual high school website under counseling and college scholarships. A specific 250 word essay on the general application must be filled out by the student to qualify.
